Welcome to the Website of the OAS Agro-Forestry Research Project

This project is being conducted in cooperation with the Mayan Reserve Foundation, Belize, Central America, and it is funded by the Organization of American States. With our website we will keep you up to date about ongoing project activities and achieved project outputs.

The OAS Agro-Forestry Research Project was started three years ago, in April, 2003, in Belize. This project aims to develop transferable strategies for sustainable land-use in the tropics on degraded pastures, including activities for higher education, socio-economic development and research.

  • Hot pepper (Capsicum spp.) based agro-forestry systems in Belize, including Physic nut (Jatropha curcas) and different forest trees
